Abstract: |
Objective: To study the effects of Shenmai injection in protecting bone marrow, reducing side effects of chemotherapy, promoting short-term efficacy and improving quality of life in chemotherapy in children with malignant solid tumor. Methods: Totally 224 children with malignant solid tumor were randomly divided into control group and three dose gradient experimental groups. The control group only received standard chemotherapy. In addition to the standard chemotherapy, the three experimental groups were treated with Shenmai injection of different doses (0.50 mL/kg,0.75 mL/kg and 1.00 mL/kg) for once a day, with a course of treatment for 5 days. After 4 courses of treatment, the differences of blood routine, liver and kidney function and side effects of chemotherapy, short-term efficacy and quality of life were observed in the experimental group and the control group. Results: There was no significant difference between three experimental groups and the control group in blood routine, liver and kidney function and side effects of chemotherapy (P>0.05). There was statistically significant difference in short-term efficacy between the experimental group 1, 2 and the control group (P<0.05), there was no statistically significant difference in short-term efficacy between the experimental group 3 and the control group (P>0.05). There
was statistically significant difference in the quality of life between the experimental group 1, 2, and 3 and the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusion: Shenmai injection has no significant improvement on the function of bone marrow, vital organs function and side effects of chemotherapy in children treated with chemotherapy, otherwise it can help with the recovery of body during chemotherapy, improve the quality of life, enable to tolerant and complete the chemotherapy, and improve the prognosis of children with malignant solid tumors. |
