Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective: To evaluate the effects of pharmaceutical care by clinical pharmacists on the rational drug use in children with nephrotic syndrome. Methods: Medical records of hospitalized children with nephrotic syndrome in our hospital were collected from 81 cases in the non-intervention group (from Jan. to Jun. 2018) and 83 cases in the intervention group (from Jul. to Dec. 2018). Differences in medication compliance, incidence of adverse drug reactions, treatment effects and disease cognition between two groups were compared. Results: The medication compliance scores of the intervention group and non-intervention group were respectively (6.74±1.13) points and (3.25±1.56) points (P<0.05). The incidences of adverse drug reactions in the intervention group such as blurred vision, osteoporosis and diabetes were respectively 3.61%, 2.41%, and 0, lower than 12.35%, 9.87%, and 4.94% in the non-intervention group (P<0.05). In terms of disease cognition, the intervention group was significantly better than the non-intervention group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Comprehensive pharmaceutical care by clinical pharmacists can reduce the incidence of adverse drug reactions in children with nephrotic syndrome, improve the medication compliance and the degree of cognition of the disease.
