Abstract:
Objective: To explore the safe and effective intervention countermeasures of parenteral nutrition by analyzing the intervention countermeasures of clinical pharmacists for irrational parenteral nutrition medical orders in neonatology of our hospital. Methods: Retrospective analysis of parenteral nutrition medical orders of 3,869 children in neonatology of our hospital from 2016 to 2018 was performed, and the number and proportion of irrational medical orders were statistically analyzed. According to the intervention of clinical pharmacists, 3,869 children were divided into pre-intervention group and intervention group. Irrational drug use was compared between two groups. Results: After intervention, the incidence of irrational drug use decreased compared with before intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The length of stay and hospitalization cost of neonates decreased compared with before intervention, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of parenteral nutrition-related adverse drug reactions in neonates decreased compared with before intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The intervention of clinical pharmacists can reduce the incidence of irrational parenteral nutrition in neonatology and ensure the safety and effectiveness of intravenous drug use in neonates.
