Abstract:
[Abstract] The 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) infection that emerged at the end of 2019 has been occurring in many places and countries all over the world, and has not yet been fully controlled, with infections in children and even newborns having been reported. Approximately 15 million newborns are born each year in China, and there is a potential risk of newborn screening for inherited metabolic disorders. Based on the current status, some experts from the newborn screening center of Children’s Hospital of Chongqing Medical University and Clinical Laboratory Center of National Health Commission formulate the contingency suggestion for screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of newborn screening of inherited metabolic disorders during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-2019) epidemic.
