| Abstract: |
| Objective: To evaluate the adjuvant therapeutic effects of human milk whey protein on viral upper respiratory tract infection
in children, and to clarify its specificity and safety in alleviating fever and improving early symptoms. Methods: A total of 89 children
aged from 3 to 8 years admitted to our hospital from Apr. to Nov. 2025 were selected, of which 72 cases completed the study, including
38 cases in the control group and 34 cases in the observation group. The control group was given routine antiviral and symptomatic
treatment, while the observation group was treated with human milk whey protein orally on the basis of the control group. After 5 d of
continuous treatment, the improvement time of clinical symptoms and severity after treatment were compared between two groups.
Results: The fever duration in observation group was significantly shorter than that of control group (P < 0. 05 ). There was no
statistically significant difference in antipyretic effects among different age subgroups (P >0. 05), and the improvement of symptom
severity on the 2nd d after treatment was significantly better than that of the control group (P <0. 05). Conclusion: As the adjuvant
therapy, breast milk whey protein can effectively shorten the fever time of viral upper respiratory tract infection in children, improve the
severity of symptoms in the early stage of the disease, with higher safety and clinical application value. |
