Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the effects of two kinds of water-soluble vitamins for injection on the stability of neonatal parenteral nutrition solution. Methods: Using the same blending method, based on the commonly clinical use amount of water-soluble vitamins for injection of 1.5 mL and the maximum clinical use amount of 3 mL, the two kinds of water-soluble vitamins for injection with addition (experimental group) and without addition (control group) of methyl parahydroxybenzoats were separately formulated into neonatal parenteral nutrition solution. The solution was stored at the dark room (temperature 25 ℃) and tested for appearance changes, pH value, emulsion grains particle size, particle size distribution, insoluble particles and bacterial growth at 0 h, 12 h and 24 h after preparation. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in pH value, emulsion grains particle size, number of insoluble particles and bacterial growth in the samples of the experimental group and the control group prepared according to the commonly clinical use amount or the maximum clinical use amount (P>0.05). The PDI value of the samples in two groups were statistically different (P<0.05), yet the PDI values of all samples were <0.2, which indicated the good monodispersity of emulsion droplet. Conclusion: The stability of neonatal parenteral nutrition solution prepared by two kinds of water-soluble vitamins for injection (with or without addition of methyl parahydroxybenzoats) is better, which can be used in the clinic according to the actual situation.
