| [Abstract] Objective: To probe into the application status of drug manipulation for pediatric oral dosing in our hospital, so as to provide reference for ensuring the rational and safe medication of children. Methods: Medical orders of drug manipulation for pediatric oral dosing were extracted from Jun. 2018 to May 2019 in our hospital, and the drug information of manipulation for pediatric oral dosing was statistically analyzed, including age, gender, drug name, specification and manipulation dose. Results: A total of 1,080 children were enrolled, with 15,724 medical orders, among which the medical orders of urinary system with drug manipulation for pediatric oral dosing accounted for the largest proportion (4,282 entries, 27.23%), followed by drugs affecting allergy and immune function (2,202 entries, 14.00%), digestive drugs (2,149 entries, 13.67%) and anti-infective drugs (1,403 entries, 8.92%). Tablets accounted for the largest number of drug manipulation for pediatric oral dosing (10,434 entries, 66.36%), followed by hard capsules (1,329 entries, 8.45%) and oral solutions (739 entries, 4.70%). Conclusion: The existing specifications of our hospital cannot meet the clinical needs, and the prevalent phenomenon of drug manipulation for pediatric oral dosing poses a great danger to the medication safety, which requires the collaboration of the state, enterprises and hospitals to ensure the rational and safe medication for children. |
