| Abstract: |
| Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of doxycycline (DOX) in the treatment of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia
(MPP) in children, and to analyze the medication safety in young children. Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed on clinical
data of children with MPP admitted into the General Hospital of Northern Theater Command from Jan. 2023 to Mar. 2024. All children
were divided into the DOX group and control group according to different treatment methods. The length of stay, recovery of laboratory
examination indicators and prognosis after treatment of two groups were compared. Results: Regarding efficacy, the length of stay in the
DOX group was shorter than that in the control group, the white blood cell value level was better, and the improvement time of C-reactive
protein was shorter than that in the control group. Regarding safety, compared with the control group, the proportion of abnormal liver
function was higher and the proportion of gastrointestinal reactions was lower in the DOX group. Conclusion: DOX has a better
therapeutic effect on MPP, with a higher frequency of abnormal liver function, yet the incidence of gastrointestinal adverse drug reactions
is lower than that of macrolides alone, providing reference for the application in younger age groups. |
