| Abstract: |
| Objective: To perform comprehensive clinical evaluation of efgartigimod and eculizumab, and to provide reference for the
introduction of new drugs in hospitals and rational use of drugs in clinical practice. Methods: Following A Quick Guideline for Drug
Evaluation and Selection in Chinese Medical Institutions (the Second Edition), both drugs were assessed comprehensively across five
dimensions: pharmaceutical characteristics, efficacy, safety, economic considerations, and additional attributes. Results: Efgartigimod
received a score of 50. 56 points while eculizumab scored 53. 70 points. Neither drug was considered as the first-line treatment for myasthenia gravis, yet both drugs were recommended as effective alternatives by domestic and foreign guidelines. Due to the late
marketing of efgartigimod, there was a lack of research data for individuals under the age of 18 years, further assessment was needed to
evaluate its safety, efficacy and dose-response. Conclusion: The scores for both drugs are <60. 00 pints, under the same conditions,
efgartigimod and eculizumab are not given priority for consideration. This comprehensive evaluation provides decision support for the
rational use of two drugs in the hospital, clinicians should carefully select drugs based on the individual conditions. |
